Branding in Music
Generating more income in a commercial world
is a never ending battle. Nothing wrong with
that until of course the bubble bursts, when
there is no more room to expand.
One idea to generate
income is placing advertising in your music.
Well known artists are
already are doing this.
Madonna sang about the
Mini Cooper (very popular car in the
UK)
in the song "I drive a Mini Cooper / And I'm
feeling Super Duper".
Dizzee Rascal
endorsed a pair of Air Force One sneakers by
Nike in the music "Fix Up, Look Sharp".
Solid Crew hás na
agreement with Adidas; Puma supports Wayne
Wonder e Black Eyed Peas; and Virgin Mobile
got together with British band Pay As You Go
Crew.
Hip-Hop artist Damon Dash
made a deal with William Grant & Sons, a
alcoholic beverage company, to buy Armadale,
a brand of vodka. His business partner
rapper Jay-Z, promotes Armadale in his songs
with his line of clothing Roc-A-Fella, which
incidentally is modeled by Victoria Beckham,
ex Spice Girl.
