Success & Failure
Do you know how many musicians are
successful in relation to those musicians
who are losers?
One in a hundred? One in a thousand? One in
every hundred thousand?
The truth is that anybody can be a loser.
It's easy.
All you have to do is do nothing! All you
need to do is dream and hold it right there.
All you need to do is imagine what could be
or frustrate yourself because of jealousy of
others having success "why them and not
me?", or "my music is better than the crap
they're playing!" All you need to do is give
up – loser guaranteed.
Obtaining success is not easy. On your way
to reaching success there will be problems,
of course, which at times really disturb us.
But problems occur in any place and in any
situation. To reach success, you need to be
persistent, but really persistent.
Define your goal and don't stop until you
reach it. On your way you will find people
who try to instimulate you, people who try
to cheat you, frustrating situations, fights
with egos, financial problems, until all of
a sudden POW! You start to see the light at
the end of the tunnel. It could be in the
manifestation of your first cachê, first
interview, first opportunity or first
sponsorship.
In any case these manifestations should be
treated with humility and wisely, because
they don't appear every day, isn't it true?
These manifestations are just bridges that
help us to reach the next stage. Never
damage or abuse these bridges whilst you are
crossing them. If they break during the
crossing, you will fall, and it will hurt!
These bridges are very valuable.
For those who are interested, read the story
of David Bowie.
This is a classic case of persistence until
reaching the success that you always wanted.
With persistence, correct usage of the
bridges and overcoming problems, success is
in the palm of your hand.
Ah, the answer to my question at the
beginning of this text. It's around ten
thousand losers for every one musician who
feels that they're a success.
The successful musicians thank you if you
are thinking of giving up (less
competition!).
